Historic Windows in Cleveland Heights
Original Wood Windows, Restored Not Replaced
Ambler Heights, Fairmount, and the streets off Coventry were built in the 1910s and 1920s with old-growth wood sash and wood storms, and most of it is still in the openings. When the paint lifts and the glazing cracks, the fix is restoration, not replacement: scraped to sound wood, re-glazed, primed, two coats brushed by hand, storms and screens refinished off the house.
