Every painter in Lake County is busy from May to October. Then the exteriors stop, the calendars open, and the same crews that were booked out eight weeks in July can be in your living room next Tuesday. If you have been putting off the bedrooms, the kitchen, the trim, or the cabinets, winter is when you get the best crew at the best price with the shortest wait.
Why winter works for interior paint
Furnace season means dry indoor air, and dry air is what paint wants. Coats flash off evenly, trim enamel levels out, and we can usually do walls one day and trim the next without waiting on humidity. Rooms are back in service fast. A bedroom is one day; a kitchen with walls and trim is one to two; a full first floor is a week.
- Dry heated air: faster recoats, harder cured enamel on trim and doors
- Low-odor, low-VOC paints mean you keep living in the house while we work
- Open calendar: most interior jobs start within two weeks of the estimate in winter
- Same crew, same prep standard we use on summer exteriors
The winter scheduling rate
We would rather keep our crew working at a fair price than sit idle, so interior work booked by November 15 for a start between November and February gets our winter scheduling rate: 10 percent off the labor on interior walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and cabinet refinishing. Exterior pricing is unchanged. The estimate shows the regular price, the winter rate, and the start window, so there is nothing to decode.
- Standard bedroom, walls only: $400–$900 before the winter rate
- Bedroom with ceiling, trim, and doors: $800–$1,600
- Living room or open family room: $900–$2,200
- Kitchen walls and trim around cabinetry: $500–$1,200
- Cabinet refinishing, typical kitchen: a fraction of the $25,000+ cost of replacement
Done before the holidays
The question we get every October is whether a room can be finished before Thanksgiving. The answer in October is yes. The answer in the second week of November is usually yes for one or two rooms. By December the honest answer is January, because our pre-holiday slots fill in the order people book them. If the dining room, the guest room, or the kitchen needs to look right for family, book the estimate now and pick the date.
How an interior estimate works
We walk the rooms with you, measure, note the prep (nail pops, cracked corners, water stains, old gloss trim that needs scuffing and bonding primer), and send a written estimate with every surface listed, the number of coats, the products, and a start window. Payment is half at signing and half at completion, card accepted, and every job carries our five-year limited workmanship warranty.
Call or text 440-382-5701, or use the quote form, and send a few photos of the rooms. We will tell you what it costs and when we can start.
