Hosting this year? Here is the honest calendar for getting paint done before the house fills up. It is written from our schedule on Cleveland’s east side, where we paint interiors all winter, and it assumes you book within the next couple of weeks.
What fits before Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is the fourth Thursday of November. Working backward, anything booked by the end of October has room, and most one- and two-room jobs booked in the first week of November still make it.
- Dining room or living room, walls and ceiling: 1–2 days
- Guest bedroom and the hall bath: 1–2 days
- Front entry, stairwell, and upstairs hall: 2 days
- All the trim and doors on the first floor: 2–3 days
- Kitchen cabinets, typical 25–35 doors and drawers: 4–5 days plus cure time, so book these first
What fits before Christmas
The first two weeks of December are the busiest interior weeks of the year for us. Bookings made in November get those dates; bookings made in December generally start in January. If the kitchen is the project, November is the month to start, because cabinets need a few days to cure before heavy use.
Living in the house while we paint
We work one room or one zone at a time, move and cover furniture, use low-odor paints, and leave each room usable at the end of the day. Cabinets are sprayed off-site or in a sealed zone in the kitchen so the rest of the house stays clean. You will not be moving out, and you will not be smelling paint at dinner.
Book it
Interior work booked by November 15 gets our winter scheduling rate of 10 percent off interior labor. Text photos of the rooms to 440-382-5701 or use the quote form, and we will send a written estimate with a start date you can plan around.
